SIVAGIRI: Union minister Smriti Irani said that Sreenarayana Guru's message about cleanliness was the inspiration behind the central government's 'swacch bharat' programme. She also pointed that the central government is focussing to provide basic necessities for the nine crore people of the coutry who does not even have toilets in their houses. She was inaugurating 'Sthree Samajam' meet as part of Sreenarayana Guru's ninetieth death anniversary observation.

"Modi was always drawn towards Sivagiri because of Guru. Guru's visions are very significant in the society. It included science and technology for the development of our country. Such thoughts which connect science and technology with religion have huge relevance now", clarified Smritu Irani. Former M G University vice chancellor Dr.Jancy James presided over the function.
