THRISSUR: The police have arrested the accused in connection with ATM robbery in Thrissur. The accused has been identified as Sravan, native of Bihar and he was arrested from a toddy shop in Chavakkad. The arrest was made on the basis of the CCTV visuals.

SBI ATM situated at Anjangady in Chavakkad was robbed. No further details are available on the robbery. The incident was reported to the bank by a man who entered the ATM to withdraw cash. The police and bank officials reached the spot immediately. ATM screen was also damaged. The police had deduced that the robbery was not committed by professionals since no weapons were found. Sravan reached the toddy shop after the his robbery attempt failed. He was arrested from there. He confessed that the ATM screen was destroyed using a stone. He will be presented in the court on Tuesday and will be remanded.

This is the second ATM robbery incident within two weeks in Thrissur. Rs 10.8 lakh was robbed from an Indian Bank ATM in Koratty on 12th this month. CCTV camera in the ATM was damaged using spray paint.
