THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Mathew T Thomas’ gunman was found shot dead in his house on Wednesday. The body of Kollam Kadakkal native Sujith (27), a policeman from Thiruvananthapuram A R camp, was found in the morning.

According to the police, there was cut on his wrist vein and the gun found near his body was his service revolver, leading to the primary inference that it was a case of suicide.

A police team under Kadakkal CI has reached the spot and started investigation. Police said more things about the death can be said only after a detailed examination of the body and crime scene is carried out.

Sujith, a civil police officer of the A R camp had been the gun man of the minister over the past two years. There are reports that police have found a suicide note from near his body.

The body will soon be shifted to the Medical college hospital for further examination.
