THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: School of Bhagavat Gita founder Swami Sandeepananda has expressed satisfaction over the progress of investigation into the fire incident in his ashram at Kundamankadavu near Thirumala.

“Hopefully, an ideal action will be there from the police once they collect all available evidence. The police had recorded statements from me and other ashram inmates,” he told Kerala Kaumudi on Wednesday.

Sandeepananda said women’s entry issue might not be the only reason behind the attack on his ashram. “I had several ideological differences with Sangh Parivar. Their Hinduism is parochial. It is not the true sanathana dharma. It was Shankaracharya who first questioned the arrogance of purohits. Later they even banned him from attending his mother’s funeral,” he explained.

Sandeepananda said Tulasidas was his name in Poorvashrama (life prior to Sanyasa). “Some BJP men had rumoured that I’m the brother of P K Sajith, who had campaigned for allowing Malaya clan to offer honey abhishekam at Sabarimala temple. An arrested BJP worker and a former representative of Bharathiya Vichara Kendra had given me the nick name P K Shibu”.
