AMBALAPPUZHA: Two youths have been arrested for abducting a 14 year old girl from a flood relief camp after posing as her lovers. Punnapra police on Wednesday arrested Edappon Pattoor native Appu (23) and his friend Kollam Kannimelshery native Vipin (30) from Kollam.

The youths who were Ice plant technicians used to frequent the relief camp when they came for maintenance work at a plant in Kuravanthodu area. The incident related to the case happened during the time of floods.

It was Appu who had first fell in love with the girl. On November 23, both the guys arrived at Punnapra and took away the girl in a bus.
The arrest was based on the complaint given by the girl’s parents. The youths who have been arrested under POCSO were later produced in the court.
