THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In connection with the case that Saritha S Nair was sexually abused in official residences of ministers, the police will record her statement on Saturday. Once this procedure is complete, they may proceed to arrest former chief minister Oommen Chandy and former Union minister K C Venugopal in the coming days.
Saritha’s secret statements will be recorded at Thiruvananthapuram Judicial Magistrate court also during the day at 4 pm.
If Saritha repeats the initial statement, the case will become stronger. It will also be difficult for Saritha to change her statement now.
The crime branch already filed two FIRs based on Saritha’s complaint that during a hartal day in 2012, Chandy had subjected her to unnatural sex and on another occasion K C Venugopal sexually abused her at Rose House, the official house of former UDF Tourism minister M P Amil Kumar.
The crime branch will enter the next stage of investigation only after getting a copy of her statements.
