PATHANAMTHITTA: Now there are allegations that Padalam Mulampuzha Sharath Bhavan resident Sivadasan, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances recently, had received life threats from some of his neighbours.
It is alleged that among them there were RSS-BJP loyalists.
Sivadasan had earlier filed a complaint against them in Padalam police station regarding his dispute over a pathway. Pandalam police have also confirmed this.
He was found dead inside the forest at Kambakam turn near Plapally when the complaint he gave on April 26, 2018 still existed. Problems for him started when Sivadasan’s neighbours prevented him from using the pathway to his house. When they opposed riding his two wheeler through the way, he lodged a complaint with Pandalam police station. He alleged in his complaint that they had threatened to burn his bike. The police called two parties to the police station and almost resolved the issue between them.
But it is alleged now that Sivadasan was later threatened by a leader that he would be beaten and thrown into some gorge if he didn’t withdraw the complaint.
Meanwhile, the police clarified that Sivadasan’s death might be due to vehicle accident as Kambakam turn was accident-prone. “The man was also in depression after the row with his neighbours. As of now we have found nothing suspicious and all angles will be probed become arriving at a conclusion,” they said.
Sivadasan’s complaint is relevant now as the BJP has come out with the allegation that Kerala police had beaten him, an Ayyappa devotee, to death for taking part in Sabarimala protest.
