KOCHI: Kerala high court has warned the government against indiscriminate arrest of all those who took part in protests in Sabarimala against young women’s entry in Sabarimala.
The court stressed that those who indulged directly in violence only should be arrested.
There should be clear evidence for their role in violence. The court also asked the police to present the video footages of agitation that took place in Sabarimala and surrounding areas.
The high court, meanwhile, asked the petitioners not use the court for staging protests and agitation. “Don’t drag court into the protests going on. We are not interested in being part of Sabarimala agitation,” the court warned.
The court made the above observation while considering the petition that an Ayyappa devotee was killed in police action.
The petition was later posted for Monday.
