THIRUVANNATHAPURAM: It has been decided to make G Raman Nair - who severed his relationship with the Congress and joined the BJP - the State vice-president of the party.

It has also been decided to include former Women Commission member J Prameela Devi in the State Committee.

BJP State president P S Sreedharan Pillai informed on Saturday that besides Raman Nair, several KPCC office-bearers would join the BJP.

“Talks are going on with some of them. Soon a decision will be made on this. Raman Nair and Prameela Devi are persons who joined the party without eyeing any position. It is our responsibility to give them reputable positions. Hence I’m nominating G Raman Nair as State vice-president and Prameela Devi as State committee member. An official announcement on this will be made in the coming days,” Sreedharan Pillai said at a function in Kottayam.

Raman Nair joined the BJP after he was expelled from the Congress for attending a BJP programme in Pathanamthitta against young women’s entry in Sabarimala.
