PATHANANMTHITTA: Kerala high court has rejected the bail plea of five persons who have been accused of having indulged in violence during the protest against young women’s entry in Sabarimala.
Pathanamthitta district sessions court rejected the bail plea of the persons who allegedly attacked officials who went to Sabarimala to discharge their duties and media persons who went to cover the protests.
The court observed that the accused who took law into their own hands and ruled the roost would create anarchy in the country if they are given bail.
If they are granted bail, it will send a wrong message to the people.
The court on Saturday rejected the bail plea of one to five accused, who were arrested in cases related to attacking 10 KSRTC buses, 13 police vehicles and media persons. Accused No 1 to 5 are Shailesh, Anand, Aswin, Abhilash and Kiran.
Pathanamthitta district sessions court judge John K Illikkadan said that the accused tried to undermine the verdict delivered by the apex court.
