PATHANAMTHITTA: DGP Loknath Behra has clarified that no media will be banned from Sabarimala, when the temple gets opened on Monday for the chithira aatta visesham. He also clarified that media will be allowed to pass through the check posts when the security measures are completely arranged. "The media personnel were attacked by protesters last time. Devotees and journalists should be protected. The police will not impose any ban on the media. We hope that the security arrangements will be made completely before Sunday evening. No other details can be revealed now”, clarified Behra.

Pathanamthitta district police chief C Narayanan said that no women have approached them seeking protection to visit the temple. He also clarified that protection will be ensured for devotees at Sabarimala. Meantime, 3731 people have been arrested over attacks at Sabarimala. They have been charged with serious crimes.

It has been reported that the security is being beefed up because of the intelligence report which states that several organizations are trying to create a clash at Sabarimala using women. Devotees are being blocked at Ilavunkal using barricades. The devotees will be allowed to enter at Sannidhanam only on Monday.
