THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala has sought a detailed investigation in the custody death of Tamil Nadu native Viswanathan, who was arrested by Kozhikode medical college police for a robbery attempt. “It has been suspected that he was subjected to torture in custody. Doctors say that an internal bleeding resulted in Viswanathan’s death. Therefore, investigation should be carried out after suspending the responsible police officers”, said Chennithala.

Chennithala also alleged that the government has no record of the amount received to the disaster relief fund. “Even former minister Oommen Chandy’s name is not in the list of MLAs who have donated money. How can we believe the government who had not even recorded the amount donated by the MLAs? The public has the right to know how the amount is being spent”, he said.
