THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It has been alleged that RSS leader Valsan Thillankery violated the rituals at Sabarimala by stepping on the eighteen steps without an 'Irumudikkettu'. Travancore Devaswom board clarified that the allegation a detailed investigation will be conducted on the allegation. Devaswom board member K P Sankar Das clarified that such an action should not have happened at Sabarimala.

"It is not right to show your back to the deity standing on the eighteen steps. Those who say that they are at Sabarimala to protect the rituals, are violating the rituals", said Shankar Das. Protesters have said that they will not allow anyone to step on the eighteen steps without 'Irumudikkettu'. Several women were not allowed to step on the eighteen steps on Tuesday morning, when they arrived without an 'Irumudikkettu'. Meanwhile, this incident has faced a lot of backlash. High Court had also clarified that visiting Sabarimala without an 'Irumudikkettu' was violation of rituals.

Meantime, Valsan Thillankery said that he has not violated any rituals. He said that he just came down on hearing a dispute. BJP state president Sreedharan Pillai has also not responded to this incident. Pillai said that he is unaware of the rituals regarding the eighteen steps.
