SABARIMALA: Sabarimala temple closed on Tuesday night at sharp 10 o' clock with the singing of Harivarasanam by devotees in synch with K J Yesudas' recorded song played through speakers at Sannidhanam.

The 26-hour-long Chithira Atta occasion came to an end after Padi pooja held under the stewardship of Thantri Kandararu Rajeevaru by 10 in the night.

In the wake of tense situation, there was strong security in place though protesters managed to prevent a young woman from entering Sabarimala.

The prohibitory order imposed in the area was revoked at 12 am. The police are cautious even when the devotees climb down the hillock.

Sabarimala temple will open again on Vrichikam 1.
