KOCHI: The state government of Kerala has stated that there is a dispute over the ownership of Sabarimala temple and non-Hindus should not be banned from the temple. The government informed the court that there is no solid proof for Hindu community's right to the temple. The court was considering the plea filed by BJP leader T G Mohandas seeking to ban non-Hindus from Sabarimala.
The government informed that there are many arguments regarding the ownership of Sabarimala temple. Some say that it is a Buddhist temple and some people claim that Malayarayas possess the rights to the temple. People of all religions come to visit the temple every year. Evryone vist the mosque of Vavaru as well. Therefore, opinions of Christians and Muslims should also be sought, said the representative of the government in the court.
