NEW DELHI: CPM polit bureau member Brinda Karat said that it is not right to ban women who consider menstruation just as a biological process, not as impure from entering temples. She was inaugurating the meet celebrating the anniversary of temple entry proclamation organized by Public Relations department of Kerala House. "Those women who consider menstruation as impure can decide that they do not want to enter the temple. However, it is not right to ban those women who do not consider it as impure. It does not suit a liberal society. Kerala is a state that has a history of renaissance. The Supreme Court verdict on Sabarimala issue is very important. It is a land of people who cut their breasts when they were asked topay tax for their breasts. Temple entry proclamation is had set an example for the whole country. We should hold on to such ideas", said Brinda Karat.
