THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It has been hinted that the government will soften their stand on the Sabarimala women entry issue as the temple is set to open on Friday, which marks the start of the pilgrimage season. This is following the Supreme Court decision to hear the review pleas on January 22. It has also been hinted that the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan discussed the matter with leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala through a phone call.
The government has called for an all-party meet on Thursday. Panthalam royal family and tantri family are invited for a discussion. The discussion will be held after the all-party meet at 3 pm. It has been hinted that the government is trying to settle the issue. Providing tight security at Sabarimala during the pilgrimage season is a huge challenge for the government. The all-party meet will be held at 11 am on Thursday.
Meantime, Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala clarified that UDF leaders will participate in the all-party meet on Thursday. KPCC president Mullappally Rmachandran had shown his disinterest to participate in the meeting. He alleged that the government could have called this meeting a few days ago when the Congress demanded to do so. It has been informed that the Congress will demand for a peaceful atmosphere at Sabarimala so that the devotees can pray without any problems.
