PATHANAMTHITTA: Sabarimala temple will get opened on November 16 for the pilgrimage season and it will get closed on December 27 for the Mandala Pooja. It will again be opened on December 30 and will close on January 20. Petta Thullal is on January 11. Makara Vilakku is on January 14. Supreme court will consider the review pleas on January 22. The police should ensure security during the whole pilgrimage season. Rahul Easwar and several organizations have clarified that they will not allow women to enter Sabarimala.
Therefore, police have a very tough job in ensuring the security. More than ten thousand policemen will be deployed at Sabarimala. They will be deployed as five stages. South zone ADGP Anil Kanth is the chief police co-ordinator. Manoj Abraham is responsible for deploying the police officers. One company women police officers and 30 women commandos will also be deployed.
4500 policemen will be deployed in four stages at Sabarimala. 5000 policemen will be deployed at Sabarimala during 'Makara Vilakku'. Women police officers will be deployed at Sannidhanam only if necessary; else, women police-officers older than 50 will be deployed at Sannidhanam just like during Chithira Aatta Visesham. 200 women police officers will be deployed between Pampa and Nilakkal.
