THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Congress leader K Muraleedharan MLA has said if anything undesirable happens to Ayyappa devotees, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will not be able to walk out of his room.

He was speaking in a DCC meeting held in front of Devaswom board headquarters on Saturday in protest against the failure of the government to provide facilities for devotees at Sabbidhanam.

“During the tenure of Pinarayi, even Lord Ayyappa has bad times. This has never happened before. There is no basic facility in Sabarimala; drainage is overflowing, polluting the atmosphere of Sabarimala. Devotees are not able stay back at Sannidhanam after 11 pm. CPM says that they are with neo-liberals while Devaswom board says they are with devotees. Thus the government hopes to get both parties’ votes,” he said.

Muraleedharan blamed the CPM and the BJP for creating trouble in Sabarimala. Both parties are friends during the night and foes during the day. Their main agenda is to destroy the Congress. He also ridiculed Devaswom board president A Padmakumar, saying that the latter rather spent the rest of his days in forest.
The Congress leader, however, criticised the arrest of Hindu Aikyavedi president K P Sasikala.
