NILAKKAL: The police have stopped UDF leaders at Nilakkal while they were travelling to Sabarimala to visit the temple. The police informed that only MLAs will be allowed to enter Sabarimala. Leader of opposition Ramesh Chennithala said that the control measures imposed by the police at Sabarimala are unnecessary and section 144 should be withdrawn from there.
"Why did the government and police declare 144 at Sabarimala? Why is the police stopping Ayyappa devotees? The government is sabotaging the Sabarimala pilgrimage. They have not made necessary arrangements at Sabarimala after floods. The government is not doing anything for the devotees", said Chennithala.
