NILAKKAL: A minor argument occurred between Union Minister Pon Radhakrishnan and SP Yatheesh Chandra, who is charge of Sabarimala security, over prohibiting private vehicles from entering the road to Pamba.

The minister asked why there was ban for private vehicles when KSRTC buses are allowed to go to Pamba. All vehicles should be allowed to go. But Yatheesh Chandran said that there wold be traffic block if private vehicles were allowed to go to Pamba. Even the KSRTC buses don’t halt there.

When the minister said that such restrictions would inconvenience devotees, the SP asked the minister, “if there are some repercussions after allowing vehicles to Pamba, will you own up the responsibility for it?”.

But the Minister answered that he won’t be able to take up that responsibility.

The question of the SP irked BJP leader A N Radhakrishnan, who shouted. Asking whether the SP was questioning the minister. Finally, the SP said he would allow vehicles go to Pamba if the minister ordered.

The minister said that he had no right to give such orders and later took KSRTC to Pamba, to express his protest.
