Pillai had not visited Sabarimala even when union minister Pon Radhakrishnan arrived at the temple. This has also resulted in a controvercy. One of the BJP state executives told Kerala Kaumudi Flash that the workers will protest against the arrest of Surendran if the party fails to do so.
