ALAPPUZHA: A goon who grabbed a woman in the middle of a road in broad daylight was arrested on Thursday. The incident happened on Wednesday evening near Sariga library. He caught hold of the woman while she was taking water from the public tap there.

The accused has been identified as Binu, an accused in several criminal cases. He also attacked her husband when the latter came to her help after hearing her cry. As the locals crowded in the area, Binu fled the scene.

The accused was prohibited from entering the district for one year. The ban came to an end in the last September.
