surendran

KOLLAM: In a show of political vendetta, the Pinarayi Vijayan government seems to be tightening the noose around BJP leader K Surendran by getting the police to frame more and more cases against പഗസ.

Though Pathanamthitta court granted him bail following his arrest during his trip to Sabarimala, the police on Thursday filed a non-bailable case against him for allegedly conspiring to attack Thrissur native Lalithadevi (52) during Chithira Attam festival after mistaking her for a woman below 50 years of age.

Surendran is the 12th accused in the case.

In the case filed in Ranni court, the court had issued production warrant. This was handed over to Kottarakkara Special sub-jail Superintendent. Friday morning, Surendran will be taken to Ranni court from Kottarakkara jail. In this case, RSS leader Valsan Thilankary, BJP leader V V Rajesh, Yuva Morcha State president Prakash Babu are all also accused.

The new non-bailable case has been framed against him when Surendran was expecting bail from Kannur First Class Judicial Magistrate, which had issued a production warrant in a case he is accused of threatening DySP in Kannur. There are reports that Surendran may be produced in Kannur First Class Judicial court on November 26.

Police appear to be framing more cases against him after digging into his past so that his release could be delayed, at least till the Mandalam-Makaravilakku seasons are over.
