PATHANAMTHITTA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his office are hatching a conspiracy to put me in jail by trapping me in cases fearing my win in Manjeswaram bypolls, alleged BJP state general secretary K Surendran. Fake cases are being filed against me as part of it and directions have been given from the chief minister’s office to all police stations in the state. Efforts to haunt me will be dealt legally. Like CPM leaders, I did not act like having a chest pain, he told reporters while taken to Ranni jail from Kottarakkara jail in the case of attacking a 52 year old woman from Thrissur during Chithira Aattavishesham.

Surendran was taken into preventive custody and produced in the court after he got into a scuffle with the police at Nilakkal where Section 144 was imposed. Though he was granted bail after 14 days of remand, he was not able to leave jail as a warrant in connection with another case registered in Kannur was pending.

He was later made an accused for hatching a conspiracy in the clash that happened during Chithira Aattavishesham in Sabarimala. Even if bail is granted, he won’t be able to leave jail. Meantime, political vengeance is behind all this, alleged BJP.
