PATHANAMTHITTA: The Sannidhanam police has taken a case against 100 persons for taking part in namajapam (chanting the name of Lord Ayyappa) at Sannidhanam after violating prohibitory orders. The case was taken after informing that there is no obstruction in conducting namajapam alone or collectively after prohibitory orders were extended for four more days. The case was registered against 100 known people. The police has informed to move further will legal steps after examining the CCTV clippings. The high court had the other day directed not to take case against those chanting Ayyappa mantras. A team had gathered at Sannidhanam Thursday night for taking part in the namajapam. Though the police blocked them, they went on with it for almost 15 minutes. The case was registered on this incident. A slight increase was seen in the flow of pilgrims after the curb to Pampa was lifted. A high flow of pilgrims will be witnessed in the coming days. Curb in Nilakkal and Pampa had caused great difficulty for the devotees. Now it will be easy for the devotees to climb the eighteen steps and to pray easily.
