KOCHI: Kerala high court on Friday asked the government what it had done to implement the Supreme Court order that allows young women’s entry in Sabarimala. “What are the steps taken by the government to implement the order? How much time will be needed for it? What are the arrangements made for it? What are the plans of Devaswom board?” the court asked.

To this, the State Attorney answered that the board aimed to set aside two days for women’s entry in Sabarimala.

The court directed the government to inform it within one week the arrangement it would be able to make for women’s entry in Sabarimala. It made the above observations while considering a petition submitted by four women, seeking permission to visit Sabarimala temple.

“There is threat to the life of young women willing to visit Sabarimala temple. Due to the threat, even they have had to undergo the risk of losing their job. Two days should be set aside for women to visit Sabarimala temple,” the petitioners had said.
