surendran

PATHANAMTHITTA: Prosecution on Saturday requested the court not to give bail to BJP State general secretary Surendran in the case in which he allegedly conspired to attack a 52-year-old woman in Sabarimala during Chithira Attam occasion.

But the court didn’t accept the plea for the police custody of Surendran for questioning him. Meanwhile, police was in a fix after many errors sneaked into the case report prepared by them against Surendran.

In the report there are charges of unnatural death.

When Surendran’s advocate pointed this out in the court, the police avoided other additional cases against him. The number of the case pertaining to his arrest at Nilakkal for breaching Prohibitory orders was marked.

1198/18 but it was the number of the case pertaining to the unnatural death of a person called Sasi within Thiruvananthapuran Cantonement police station limit.

Surendran was also made an accused in the case number 705/ 15 in the same police station limit that related to blocking of road by an auto driver.

Anyone with common sense will very well know that Surendran cannot be an accused in both these cases. Surendran counsel also argued in the court that in case numbers 1284/18 and 1524/17, where certain BJP leaders are accused, Surendran is not an accused.
With this, the police took a U turn and corrected the report to make it five cases in the place of nine cases.

In the Nilakkal case, Surendran was given conditional bail, forbidding him entry in Ranni Taluk for two months. But he has not been able to walk out of the Kottarakkara jail as another case was charged against him.

Surendran had also made plea to shift him to Thiruvananthapuram Central jai as Kottarakkara jail lacked basic facilities. The court is considering the plea.
