KANNUR: BJP general secretary K Surendran, who has been housed at Kottarakkara Sub Jail, was sent to Kannur, on Sunday.

The BJP leader will be produced before a court in Kannur on Monday in connection with a production warrant issued in a case allegedly threatening the police during a protest march.

The BJP leader will be housed at Kozhikode jail tonight and brought to the court in Kannur tomorrow.

Surendran told newspersons that he was framed in fake cases to send to Kannur Central Jail and he was happy to go to Kannur, a place of martyrs.

The government hatched a conspiracy to put him in jail continuously, he alleged.

Meanwhile, the BJP workers skirmished with the police this morning in front of Kottarakkara Sub-Jail when the police brought him out.

On Saturday, for the second time, K Surendran was denied bail by Ranni Judicial First Class Magistrate on the charges of conspiring to attack a 52-year-old woman on the previous one-day opening of the Ayyappa temple.

After the court identified certain false charges against Surendran, the prosecution was given some more time to correct it and submit another list of cases against him.
