NILAKKAL: The police Sunday arrested nine BJP activists at Sannidhanam for defying prohibitory orders. Reports sat that they will be taken to Ulavungal and later at Perinad Station. The police told them that they will not prevent them from going to Sabarimala but should abide the things mentioned in the notice. But as they did not follow it, the police arrested them. BJP activists including party state secretary V K Sajeevan was arrested by a team led by assistant commissioner V N Saji and Nilakkal sub inspector Vinod Kumar. Meantime, BJP alleged that the arrest was a challenge to the devotees.
