THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The statements recorded from witnesses have increased the suspicion regarding Balabhaskar's death. A Chavara native has testified that he had seen Balabhaskar in the backseat. Another person has also testified that Balabhaskar had talked when he was being shifted to the hospital. The police will take the statements of Lakshmi and driver Arjun once again.

Witnesses had earlier testified that Balabhaskar himself was driving the car at the time of the accident. The police had taken statements from five witnesses. The statement of an auto driver who was just behind the car will be crucial. A KSRTC driver was the first one to reach the spot for rescue and his statement was also taken. Meantime, doctors who conducted the post-mortem had inspected the accident spot. The police have also conducted a background-check of the driver Arjun. Balabhaskar's wife Lekshmi had testified that Arjun was driving at the time of the accident and Arjun later denied it.
