ERNAKULAM: Kerala high court has instructed Malayalam stars’ organisation AMMA to respond within two weeks over a petition filed by two actresses.

The court on Monday asked AMMA to inform whether the in-house redressal committee within AMMA for inquiring into complaints of sexual harassment of women was formed as per law.

The petition, seeking induction of an in-house grievance redressal cell at shooting locations, was filed by Women In Cinema Collective members Rima Kallingal and Padmapriya.

WCC had argued that the current committee in AMMA was not formed as per law. All three members of the committee are persons from the cinema field.

AMMA had not followed the condition that a member should be from outside the film industry. Now the court has asked AMMA to give reply to this argument within two weeks.
