THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The opposition staged an uproar in assembly for the second day over Sabarimala issue. The opposition demanded to discuss the lack of facilities at Sabarimala. The speaker adjourned all the remaining business of the house following opposition's uproar. The members of opposition also protested in front of the assembly. Leader of opposition Ramesh Chennithala alleged that the left government, RSS and BJP are trying to sabotage Sabarimala pilgrimage.
Opposition members had staged the protest in front of the dias when the question answer session started. However, speaker clarified that such protests cannot be allowed everyday as the assembly has to complete scheduled procedures. This resulted in a dispute between the speaker and members of opposition. Pinarayi Vijayan said that they had discussed Sabarimala issue in detail on Wednesday. However, the opposition did not agree to this and the assembly was adjourned after 20 minutes of meeting.
The opposition alleged that control measures are being imposed by the government so that devotees will not visit Sabarimala. Section 144 should be withdrawn and the protests will be intensified for this, clarifiedRamesh Chennithala.
