KOZHIKODE: There were wide-spread campaigns that Sabarimala Appam and Aravana were sold from Pandalam Palace. Padalam Palace Managing Committee president Sasi Kumar Varma has come out to clarify this. He affirmed that the palace was not doing any sale of Appam and Aravana.

“It is action council that is deciding on matters related to the palace and because of that Appam or Aravana are not being sold. The palace has not done any such sale anytime earlier also. The council is not responsible for the rumours that is spreading now. There are more than 30 families that are linked to the Pandalam Palace. Among them one, family has been selling Appam and Aravana for some time now. That could be the reason for the reports that the palace is selling the items. Pooja matters are looked after by Kochu Koyikkal Thevarappura royal family. But Padalam Palace Managing Committee has no connection with the sale of Appam and Aravana,” he explained.
