KOTTAYAM: Shanmugha Mariyappan, a native of Tamil Nadu is still in shock after he had won the lottery worth Rs 4 Cr. Mariyappan was staying away from the crowd and cameras saying that he has not bought a lottery. However, he came in front of the camera upon Seematty employees’ request and ran away saying that he is poor man.

51-year old Shanmugha Mariyappan, employee of Seematty textiles in Kottayam had won the Pooja bumper first prize worth Rs 4 Cr. Mariyappan is working as the sales supervisor. He bought the lottery from Mahalakshmi lucky centre near Mariyappan temple in Kottayam last week, after visiting Ettumanur temple and found out that he has won the first prize on Friday. He informed Seematty officials about this and handed over the lottery ticket VA 489017 to South Indian Bank manager at central junction. The bumper prize is worth Rs 4 crores, followed by Rs 50 lakh and Rs 5 lakh for the second and third prize respectively. The consolation prize is Rs 1 lakh.
