THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Three UDF MLAs have started observing ‘satyagraha’ in front of the assembly on Monday. MLAs V S Sivakumar, Parakkal Abdulla and N Jayaraj are the protesters. The assembly was disrupted for the fourth consecutive day. Leader of opposition Ramesh Chennithala demanded to discuss Sabarimala issue by ending question-answer session.
Chennithala alleged that the government is implementing an undeclared emergency at Sabarimala. Pinarayi Vijayan mocked Chennithala’s remark by mentioning that he had expected this move from Congress, as BJP had declared a protest in front of the secretariat. When the chief minister alleged Congress’ ties with RSS, Chennithala hoit back at Pinarayi Vijayan by saying that an RSS backed organization was made in charge of the annadanam at Sabarimala by the government. Chennithala also alleged that Valsan Thillankery was the home minister during the protests at Sabarimala. The opposition shouted slogans near the Speaker's podium, forcing Sreeramakrishnan to rush through the day's business and adjourn the House.
