NILAKKAL: The high court-appointed Sabarimala Observatory Committee has examined the basic facilities at Nilakkal and Pamba. The committee expressed their satisfaction over the basic amenities at Nilakkal but they didn’t respond on the situation at Pamba.

The committee consists of judges P.R. Raman and S.Sirijagan and DGP A. Hemachandran. They reached Nilakkal at 12:30 pm on Sunday. At the administrative office of Devaswom, they held talks with KSRTC MD Tomin Thachankary and Sabarimala Executive officer Ajith Kumar for about one and a half hours. After that they visited the Nilakkal parking grounds, toilet complex, drinking water facility, KSRTC bus stand, Annadhana mandapam, cleansing facilities and places where sheets are spread for rest.

Though toilets in Pamba is 60 less than the required number, the committee expressed satisfaction over allotting more toilets at Nilakkal. Though Devaswom board and government officers were ready to give their inputs, they said they would collect first-hand information.

The team travelled from Nilakkal to Pamba in KSRTC electrical bus to evaluate facilities hands-on.
