THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has come to the fore supporting K T Jaleel in nepotism charges. He has neither violated the oath of office nor has violated law, Pinarayi said while replying to the adjournment motion moved by K Muraleedharan seeking discussion on nepotism charges. The chief minister said as the issue is not of urgent importance there is no need for a discussion. The opposition soon boycotted the assembly proceedings.
Muraleedharan alleged that all rules were violated for appointing Jaleel’s relative Adeeb. The nepotism charges were handled lightly. The minister made changes in the qualification for the post of managing director in Minority Finance Corporation. Changes were made to appoint his relative. There is no shortage of MBAs in the state. A note was issued by the department secretary stating that if any changes are made then it should be brought to the notice of the cabinet. However, Jaleel rejected this demand. Instead he got permission from the chief minister to appoint him and also got the support from him.
