THRISSUR: Aminumma has finally got the answer for the question raised by her following the floods that destroyed her house. She was left abandoned with her three daughters who are deaf and dumb when her house was destroyed in the floods. A native of Kodungallur who does not wish to reveal identity has handed over land to her for constructing a house. Since Aminumma has not joined in any government schemes, she needs help from good hearted people for constructing her house.
Kerala Kaumudi had published the news titled 'Kannum kaathum illatha penmakkal, veedorukkan Aminummakk venam kaithaangu' (Blind and deaf daughters, help Aminumma for constructing her house) on September 8th. Aminumma had asked whether anyone would build them a house. A native of Kodungallur came across the news and met her. Aminumma informed that she wants to live near her relatives as their help might be required sometimes. She showed the land near their place to the Kodungallur native and the person bought and registered the land in Aminumma's name two weeks ago.
Aminumma and her daughters were living in her son Abdurahiman’s house. The house was situated in four cents in Laksham Veedu colony, allotted to them by the Wadakanchery municipality. Abdurahiman's brother Sulaiman had also constructed a house near it. Both te houses were on a hillside.
Abdurahiman and Sulaiman shifted to rented houses with their families following the warning of officials during the time of floods. Aminumma and her daughters went to her brother Yussuf's house. They are moving constantly from one relative's houses to another.
Aminumma's hearing ability is decreasing. Her second daughter Hajira is both dumb and deaf. Subaida and Aisha are blind. Their only income is Aminumma's pension for the elderly and her daughters' pension for the handicapped. An account has been opened in Aminumma's name,
