THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Speaker has given permission for adjournment motion moved by the Opposition, demanding sessions for discussing matters related to rebuilding of post-flood Kerala.
It was V D Satheeshan who sought the permission for the adjournment motion on Wednesday. During the tenure of this government, this is the second time the Speaker is giving permission for the adjournment motion.
Earlier, the permission was given to the Opposition in the case of Nipah disease.
The discussion over the post-flood Kerala will be take place from 1 pm to 3 pm during the day.
Meanwhile, the fast being held by UDF MLAs in front of the Assembly gate, demanding lifting of restrictions in Sabarimala, is continuing.
As soon as the question and answer session started, Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala asked the speaker to intervene to end the fasting of the UDF MLAs.
But the Speaker said he had tried for it yesterday itself, but in vain and Ramesh Chennithala replied, “whatever be it, we shall not disrupt but cooperate with Assembly proceedings.”
