THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said in the assembly that Rs 29 Cr. will be distributed to those who lost everything in the floods. He was replying to the adjournment motion presented by the opposition alleging that the government was complete failure in handling the floods and reconstruction process following the floods. Those who lost cattle in the floods will also receive the financial aid from the government.

Leader of Opposition Ramesh Chennithala said that the government was a failure in every step following the floods and he alleged that the government did not record the complete details of the losses in floods. Opposition walked out of the assembly saying that the chief minister’s answer was not satisfactory. The government discussed the adjournment motion submitted by Congress MLA V D Satheesan.

V D Satheesan alleged that Kerala government is the first government not to tabulate the details of the losses even after 100 days since the floods. “Not even one of the 20,000 destroyed houses has not been reconstructed. The government has not given reply to an organization which has come forward showing interest to build to 500 cases.
