THALIPPARAMBU: The police have arrested 15 people in connection with the Parassinikkadavu gang rape case including the victim's father. The 16-year old victim is a tenth standard student. The police have also informed that three accused in the case have fled abroad. Shilgesh, native of Pappinissery, Shinu, native of Pazhayangadi and Mannoos Musthafa, resident of Mattool had eascaped abroad following the incident.
"The police have collected the passport details of the accused and these details were sent to all the airports", informed K V Venugopal, who is incharge of the investigation.
Police have already taken five more people into cutody in connection with the gang rape.
The arrested persons are lodge owner Pavithran, Mattool native Sandeep, Sreekantapuram natives Shamsuddhin, Shabeer and Naduvil native Ayub. Lodge owner Pavithran was arrested for providing accommodation to the culprits while the others are accused of rape. Vadakkachery native Vysakh, Thaliyil native Nikhil, Saleem and Mrudul from Anthoor, Nivin and Mattool resident Jithin is also in police custody.
According to the police, 19 accused are there in the case. A local leader is also there among five more persons now in custody. But the police were not ready to divulge the details of those in custody.
It was the girl’s father who first raped her two years ago, according to the victim’s statement given to the police.
One of the accused had become the victim's friend through a fake Facebook account.
