THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The family members of Sanalkumar, who was murdered by DySP Harikumar by pushing him to the front of a moving car have decided to stage a relay 'satyagraha'. They are staging the protest seeking compensation declared by the government. They are demanding a government job for Sanal's wife Viji and Rs 50,000 as compensation. RDO had promised to give the compensation immediately.
Ministers Kadakampally Surendran, Kadannappally Ramachandran, K K Shailaja and deputy speaker V Sasi had also promised to give the compensation immediately. However, after Harikumar's suicide government seems to have withdrawn from the promises. Sanal's family is facing a sequestration threat from three banks. This was clarified by Sanal's family members in a press meet.
The family consists of Sanal's wife, old mother and two small children. They have announced that the protest will be staged in front of the secretariat on December 10th from 9 am to 5 pm.
