Congress MLA K S Sabarinath has alleged that the government had splurged money in the name of inauguration of Kannur international airport that was held the other day.

“On Sunday evening 63 passengers took flight from Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram in Go Air flight under single PNR number. Among them there were Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, family, ministers, aides, gunmen, comrades, and DYFI leaders.

No doubt, for this Shubha yatra (auspicious journey) it was ODEPC, a government institution under the Labour department, that expended Rs 2,28,000. Not only that, when the chief minister and others travelled, the address given in the bill was fake. We have heard that in olden times, kings used to go for hunting with all his paraphernalia. This splurge in the wake of floods may be because of the present Left king rule”
