THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on his Facebook said that lesson from the mandate of the Assembly elections in five states is the reality that the people will not forgive a government if it neglects the burning issues of the people and misuse the administrative machinery to sectionalise people communally .

“It shows the reflection of the disbelief of the people in the BJP. People have realised that there is no essence in the BJP’s slogan for development. Sections including farmers, labourers, and students through their constant fight exposed the hollowness of BJP’s promises.

People earn for a change from the current economic policy. They are not concerned about building temples but they are worried about their poverty, unemployment and rise in prices. Now the election result shows that government’s plans will not work if they neglect important things and divert people’s attention to irrelevant matters.

This will be a big lesson to political leaderships that come to power by winning elections. The election also shows what would happen if governments don’t learn lessons and come out to make changes in their policies.”
