THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Consumers have expressed their strong disapproval over the plans to hike electricity charge while Electricity Regulatory commission went to record their statements over tariff hike plans.

Proposal to hike the current charge and fixed charge of ordinary persons and tariff suggestions of bigwigs was opposed.

KSEB has been demanding 8.5 pc hike in the tariff. This month itself, there will be a final notification regarding the new tariff and it will come into existence next month itself, according Regulatory Commission chairman Preman Dinraj.

The tariffs for four years will be announced.
