THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Congress leadership has reorganised all party booth committees that have been lying numb for some time, as part of its preparations for the Lok Sabha elections.
Having gained confidence from the Assembly election victories in five Northern states, Congress Chief Rahul Gandhi will arrive in Kerala in after mid-January. He will speak in the meeting of all booth representatives in Ernakulam.
The Congress had reorganised about 25 thousand booth committees under the slogan – ‘my booth my pride’. The leadership claim that it had ensured one woman vice-president in each booth.
Amidst Sabarimala controversies, the State leadership see the victory in three states as the sign of minority religious groups having more faith in the Congress.
Ever since Mullapally Ramachandran took over as the KPCC chief, he focussed on the reorganisation of booth committees. The assessment is that it was a total success.
Mullapally also called a meeting of representatives of constituencies from Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode.
This month itself, there will be reorganisation of KPCC. Mullapally has already informed the Congress chief and AICC leadership that it would be difficult to handle the affairs alone. He will also hold discussions with Oommen Chandy and Ramesh Chennithala in continuation of his talks with Rahul Gandhi.
