KOCHI: Luxury beauty parlour of Leena Maria Paul, accused in a million rupee cheating case and actress, was subject to gun firing on Saturday evening. No one was injured. A team of 2 came on a motorcycle started firing randomly at the building. Police have acquired CCTV footage of the incident.

The beauty parlour ‘The Nail Articity’ is in the first floor of a building at Panampally Nagar. Actor Dharmajan Bolgatty’s ‘Fish Hub’ in the ground floor of the same building. However the attackers didn’t step inside the building. At the time of firing there were four people inside the building. The attackers escape on the bike soon after. Thrikkakra ACP P.P.Shams told Keralakaumudi that the police haven’t yet identified the type of gun used for firing.

Police contacted Leena, who was not in Kerala. She will give a statement in person in the coming days.

Leena was arrested in 2015 for duping Canara Bank. She has acted in movies like Red Chillies, Husbands in Goa and Madras Café.

Kochi City Police Deputy Commissioner J. Himendranath, Thrikkakra ACP P.P.Shams, South CI Sibi Tom and forensic experts reached the spot.

Mumbai underworld involved?

Leena has reportedly told her employees that Ravi Pujara, a person who is a part of Mumbai underworld, was behind the attacks. She was asked to pay up Rs 25 crores by him. However police do not confirm these. The actress never informed the police about any such thing, the police says. However the police believes financial dispute between Ravi and Leena might have led to the incident. Police investigation will be based on this.
