kaviyoor-case

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CBI has filed a report after changing their former stand in the controversial Kaviyoor case. The report says that there are no valid proof to indicate that the girl was molested by her father Narayanan Namboothiri, former priest of Kaviyoor Shri Vallabha temple. There is no political involvement in the case. The girl was sexually molested, however there is no solid proof for her father’s involvement in the crime. Special CBI court had denied an earlier report suggesting that the girl was raped by her father.

This is CBI’s fourth report in the case. The charge sheet has been filed by charging abetment of suicide against only accused in the case, Latha Nair. Victim’s family had alleged that Latha Nair had offered the girl a role in the movies and she was later subjected to sexual assault by several influential people. However, CBI had found out that the girl was raped by her father.

Narayanan Namboothiri was found hanging in his house on 2004 September 28th. His wife Sobhana, younger daughter Akhila and son Akshay had also poisoned themselves.
