THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Women wall organized in the name of renaissance, is aimed to create a divide in the society on the basis of caste, says NSS General Secretary Sukumaran Nair. He was talking to the media at a press meet in Perunna.
“After several failed attempts to enter women in Sabarimala, the government have come up with women wall. There is no relation between women wall and renaissance. Believers won’t cooperate with this. However, NSS haven’t issued any special instructions to it’s members on this”, Nair said.
“If R. Balakrishna Pillai and Ganesh Kumar plan to cooperate with the women wall, NSS won’t cooperate with them anymore. Believers should take part in the ‘Ayyappajyothi’ organized by Ayyappa Karma Samithi on December 26. Here also, there are no instructions from NSS to members. If the review petition is against the rituals, we’ll approach central government. Renaissance shouldn’t be only for women. NSS does not plan to become anyone’s tool. We don’t have any different opinion with the government other than Sabarimala issue. At the time of Loksabha election, NSS will take stand accordingly with the political scenario. There is a competition between UDF and BJP to stand with believers. But the time hasn’t yet arrived to judge who is sincere”, Nair told the media.
Sukumar Nair also came up with harsh criticism on CM’s approach. “Some are saying that the government did something for NSS. They did nothing different from the UDF government. There is an air of arrogance in how the CM deals with things. He became our CM only now. As an administrator of the state, he is responsible to look after all the matters of our state. But he is not behaving in that fashion”, he said.
